At Grassi 1925, attention to sustainability is not expressed only through production choices or materials, but also through concrete initiatives involving the local community and people.
It is within this context that the collaboration with Perograno was born — an association committed to inclusion projects and work support programs for young people facing vulnerabilities. A project that naturally fits into Grassi’s vision as a Benefit Corporation, focused on generating not only economic value, but also social and environmental value.
Within the company’s green area — a large outdoor space that includes a fitness trail and areas dedicated to employees’ breaks — a vegetable garden with fruit trees has recently been created. An environment designed to be enjoyed, but also to become an active and shared space.
This is where the young people from Perograno come into play, taking part in the maintenance of the company’s green areas. It is not simply a practical activity, but a genuine path of responsibility: following a project from the beginning, taking care of it over time, and eventually seeing its results.
The value of this experience lies precisely in its concreteness. Taking care of the vegetable garden, respecting its timing, and following the growth of the plants are simple yet essential steps in building autonomy, awareness, and self-confidence.
The produce grown in the garden will also be made available to Grassi employees, creating a direct connection between the work carried out and everyday life within the company. A small virtuous cycle that brings together wellbeing, sustainability, and sharing.
This initiative is part of a broader vision in which the company becomes an active part of the local community and the social dynamics surrounding it. Not an isolated intervention, but a concrete way of interpreting the role of a company today.
For Grassi 1925, sustainability also means this: building paths that grow over time, together with people.
