History
Our first 95 years
Founded in 1925 as a technical textiles manufacturer, over the years we have evolved from being a technical clothing manufacturer with about a hundred employees to being an international group. What’s our secret? Working together with passion and creating new innovative solutions to offer stylish and high-performance garments with an eye to the environment and society.

1925
Alfredo Grassi establishes itself in Busto Arsizio (VA) as a technical textile manufacturer
1934
In addition to the production of technical fabrics, the company also begins to produce technical clothing
1986
The plant moves from the historical site of Busto Arsizio to the modern and present headquarters of Lonate Pozzolo (VA)
1994
Certification of the first personal protective equipment (PPE) in Italy with the CE marking
1995
Obtains the ISO 9001 Quality Management system certification, still in force
1996
Opening of the production unit in Romania
2005
Establishment of the Grassi France branch
2008
Obtains the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification, still in force.
2009
Obtains the SA 8000 Social Accountability certification
2010
Obtains the GoreTex Gold Level certification
2011
Opening of the production unit in Tunisia
2011
Construction of the photovoltaic plant at the Italian headquarters in Lonate Pozzolo with a production capacity of 450,000 kW per year
2012
Establishment of Grassi Spain
2012
Obtains the NATO AQAP certification, still in force
2013
Construction of the photovoltaic plant in Romania with a production capacity of 6,000,000 kW per year
2014
Opening of the production unit in Albania
2015
Obtains the CradleToCradle certification, still in force
2016
Obtains the STeP by Oeko-Tex certification, still in force
2017
Obtains the BS OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system certification, still in force
2017
Establishment of the Gr10K sustainable start-up that produces garments for the fashion world using unsold dead stock fabrics
2018
Establishment of an innovative weaving process made in Italy which creates high performance and sophisticated technical fabrics
2019
Establishment of the Amici della Grassi 1925 association made up of employees and former employees to develop and keep alive the relationships that were formed in the workplace
2019
Establishment of a collaboration with Humana People To People Italia Onlus for the reuse of items in stock and for an organic farming project.
2020
ZTECH TEXTILE Romania is born: 40 looms for a production of 1 million meters / year of fabric.
2021
Our company TTT participates in the TRICK project, the European blockchain for a traceable and sustainable textile sector
